Ramp Up Cash Flow –> Most Profitable Sale!

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

BUSINESSWEEK recently published an article pointing to all-time peak delinquencies in collections (the credit manager’s index hit its most bottom level last month).  The late-payers are everywhere…and they are endangering your business!

So, here’s another great article and idea from our good friend Abe WalkingBear Sanchez:  ramp-up-cash-flow-and-get-the-most-profitable-sale.  Click and print the article to see how to collect faster and better during this recession and on out into the future!  Just a simple discount coupon instead of a prompt pay discount will change the customer’s behavior to just what you want.  Very best wishes, Kraig

Celebrate to Win in Tough Times

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Good news has become rare, but businesses reporting good news and celebrating conservatively are doing better because they celebrate.  Their people are more involved, more engaged, work harder and have more positive attitudes than businesses that don’t celebrate or even worse, exuberate.

One company we know initiated a ”what a great idea” suggestion system, strongly supported by the CEO, which creates the opportunity to celebrate the cost-saving and sales-improvement ideas it creates.  Another company celebrates with pizza and Cokes for all employees when a monthly milestone of one kind or another is achieved.   Jack Welch in Business Week recently reiterated the need for small celebrations and recognitions of your extra-effort players.

Our people need good news, so let’s all find easy, inexpensive ways to celebrate little wins…a series of small successes will lead us all out of this recession.  With better times wishes, Kraig

Best Business Travel: Airport Restaurant

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Well, you might not believe this, but a brand new, good, real restaurant just opened up in the Atlanta airport called “One Flew South” out on Concourse E (just after getting off escalator on your left).  Best airport food in North America, bar none, no one else is close.  Ya gotta try it!

We’ll try to add other recession-relievers to this new category of Best Business Travel, but after 62 years of flying, this is one of a kind and a real restaurant.  And to open in the midst of recession:  you go for it Exec Chef Todd — absolutely awesome!  Just goes to show, when you’ve got a great concept, it will work, even in the worst of times.  When traveling, you’ve got to treat yourself whenever you can, especially in tough times, and this is when…ever!  Very best to all, Kraig

Sub-Contract to Up Your Efficiency!

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

What if you sub-contracted some of your machine-time, people-time and systems-time so that you don’t have to curtail, cut or eliminate in those areas?  We’re hearing stories of this concept from all over America.

Examples include printers sub-contracting time on their presses that they can’t fill themselves, machinists subbing time on their Davenport automatic screw machines, consultants jobbing out their professional or technical employees’ time to other non-competitive consulting firms or even clients.  Is there a possibility for you in this gem of an idea?
